Inspecting a Used Caravan - What We Check
Every pre-owned caravan that comes onto our St Marys yard goes through this checklist before it's listed. It's also a good list to know if you're looking at used caravans elsewhere.
Chassis & Suspension
We check the chassis for cracks and signs of past repair, inspect the suspension bushes, check spring condition, and verify the A-frame and drawbar are straight and undamaged.
Brakes & Bearings
Wheel bearings get repacked, brake magnets are measured for wear, brake drums inspected for scoring, and the electric brake controller compatibility is verified.
Body & Seals
Roof, windows, hatches and doors checked for water ingress. Sealants inspected. Internal cabinetry checked for soft spots and damp damage.
Appliances
Fridge tested on all three power modes, stove burners and oven lit, hot water system fired up, microwave, air-conditioning and any electric awning all run through their cycles.
Gas & Electrics
Gas certification work carried out by a licensed gas fitter. 12V and 240V wiring tested, RCD checked, solar (if fitted) verified, batteries load-tested.
Roadworthy & Compliance
Lights, indicators, brake lights and reflectors tested. Tyre condition and date codes checked. Compliance plates verified against rego.

All our used caravans are on display at our St Marys yard at 1 Pinn Street, SA 5042. Visit Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, or Saturday 8:30am to 12:30pm. We recommend calling ahead so a team member is free to walk through the van with you.
Yes. Every pre-owned caravan that comes onto our yard goes through our workshop first. We check chassis integrity, brakes and bearings, all appliances (fridge, stove, hot water, air-conditioning), gas systems, electrics, plumbing, seals and roof condition. Any issues are repaired before the van is listed for sale.
Used caravans are sold with a statutory warranty as required by South Australian consumer law, and we also offer optional extended warranty cover through our finance partners for additional peace of mind. Ask our team for details based on the specific van you are interested in.
Yes. We accept trade-ins against any new or used caravan in stock, and we also offer consignment sales if you would prefer to maximise the return on your current van. Bring your caravan in for an appraisal and our team will provide a written valuation.
